We had a fantastic stay in this hotel. The location was perfect, just a short walk from the beach and the 3rd Street Promenade, where we found many great restaurants and shops. The hotel facilities were excellent, with spacious and well-equipped suites that felt more like apartments than hotel rooms. We had a full kitchen, dining room, living room, and a comfortable bedroom with plenty of closet space. The cleanliness of the hotel was top-notch, and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Couldn't stay longer.

the atmosphere is welcoming. the units are large, as if in an apartment. the layout is great. units are quiet. the location is excellent for proximity to the beach, the seawall park, 3rd. street promenade and local restaurants and movie theaters. i highly recommend it.

it needs to be updated in its renovations.

Can't beat the location or the room sizes at the Cal-Mar. The hotel is not fancy but the suites are very large with full size kitchens and large living and dining areas. If you are looking for luxury, this is probably not the place for you. The hotel has a well worn, comfortable and beachy feel. Perfect for a long stay in Santa Monica.

We had an amazing experience at Cal Mar Hotel Suites. The location was perfect and the staff was incredibly attentive. Our room was spacious and had great amenities like climate control, a coffeemaker, and a work desk. Additionally, the hotel's proximity to the Angels Attic Museum, just a 15-minute walk away, was a big plus.

I liked the friendly staff and the convenient location, within walking distance to the beach, Santa Monica Pier and third avenue promenade, as well as the spacious suite..

During my recent stay at a hotel in a high priced area, I was pleased to find that the pool was a great asset to the property. It was clean, a great size, and in an excellent location. Additionally, having the convenience of on-site laundry helped keep our clothes fresh while traveling. The front desk staff members were also very helpful and provided great recommendations for restaurants and activities. I would highly recommend this hotel.

We loved the location of the hotel, just a block away from the beach and a short distance from Santa Monica Pier. The hotel facilities were great, with a cozy and pleasant pool area. The rooms were spacious and clean, providing a comfortable stay. Additionally, the hotel felt safe with 24-hour reception and the pool area overlooking all doors.

The location of the hotel was excelent. Rooms clean but outdated. Nice pool but require renovation as well. Some rooms are noisy since there is a busy street on one side. Great for families with kids since it has full kitchens with necessary equipment. You do not have to rush to get breakfast in the morning and at night you can finish the day with a hot cup of tea or coffee made at the hotel room. No internet access. This is 21st century and it should be available to all for free. Very nice staff at the reception desk and hotel in general, friendly and helpfull.

Location: the hotel was short walk to Santa Monica Pier/Beach, and restaurants. Booked a room with full kitchen. The staff were super-friendly and accommodating and the pool was nice.

Adequate and fairly quiet room and good bathroom with a shower, a hairdryer and towels. Excellent customer care, parking on site.

We loved staying at this hotel in Santa Monica. The location was absolutely perfect, just a short walk to downtown and Hollywood. Plus, being so close to the ocean was a real treat. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We especially enjoyed the pool area, with its heated water and abundance of sunbeds. It was the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring. a great experience!

I must mention that the hotel could benefit from some updating and maintenance in certain areas.

central to shopping and friendly staff in the morning and helpful. We had the King Suite so alot larger than normal room I guess.

quite old looking and furniture really dated. Not able to check out later was a negative as couldn't check in till after midnite due to airline delays.
